Artist-Kimberly    [Kvmbta]

BIO: My name is Kimberly Betancourt, also creatively known as Kvmbta. I’m a self taught, first generation Mexican-American fine artist and tattooer from Wilmington, California.

I currently work out of Black Sheep Tattoo Parlor based in San Pedro, California. I’m a former tattoo apprentice under Jessica Marie, and have now been tattooing for almost 2 years.

Whether it be fine art; portrait drawings to oil paintings, or tattoo art; flash designs to bold statement tattoos, my objective has always been to make the two worlds collide. While I currently specialize in American Traditional and bold/fineline Black & Grey Chicano tattoos, I’m open to learning and adapting to all styles.

Growing up in LA, my work has always been strongly influenced and inspired by the world around me, my experiences and the journey we call life. Whether it be my cultural background, childhood memories/traditions, pain and suffering, good times and bad, I aim to produce timeless tattoos that create feelings of nostalgia, empower those who wear them, and to keep alive memories that will last a lifetime.

My goal is not only to produce safe, quality work for my clients, but to help shape, tell and share their stories through the simple art of ink.
